Why do I blog? I blog for the same mix of reasons that I earned my black belt. One, I like to. It feels good to me. I organize my thoughts and reflect on my issues.
Two, it’s good for me. I run an online business. Rather than contemplate my naval aimlessly, I contemplate and build some links. And ask more knowledgable people useful questions. And, given my 50 year old memory, I can find out what I was working on yesterday by looking at my blog.
Three. It impresses people. People are nicer to me when they know I have a black belt. They’re nicer to me when they realize that my newsletter has a few hundred thousand readers and that at my heart, I can be really petty.

Wow. What a good set of thoughts, I probably should have made a post on one of my blogs about this.

I totally agree, my main focus was generally overseas: reading overseas blogs, interacting with customers and people over the SA border. But something drew me back to South Africa and I’m starting to believe in being able to help SA people again.

If we all do a small bit to share people with information, I believe that’ll help SA get ahead in terms of the internet and people becoming more self-sufficient through using the internet.

When I first started blogging four years ago, I wanted to use my blog as a platform to make money. Well, not off other people but from reviewing products.

Then I spent three years doing affiliate marketing and researching other avenues of creating an online income, and now my new blog is totally focused on sharing my unique experiences and knowledge.

I love blogging because its a way to digitize my mad ideas and also to see what other people think about my idea.
Some how its like an assessment system for me, where I express my unique ideas in tech and business then guys can see and tell me if I am mad or I am right

That is similar to my own experience in that I had been reading blogs for quite some time and then decided that I also had something to offer.

I also love the collaborative nature of blogs, whereby people are very willing to share their ideas and help when necessary.

I have wondered about this, for some time, I started to blog, just because, I read some blogs and decided that it would be like a personal journal, a place for me to, rant and rave. I have since started to focus my energy more on technology news and I think I am now addicted! I can’t start my day without posting some news article or some interesting facts…

So I guess I blog to “To share my unique knowledge” and to “To express my views and opinions”
