Get free website hosting for a year! No catch.
Taking a leaf out of PB’s book (I hope he doesn’t mind), I would like to give something back to all my readers and at the same time promote my blog to a wider audience! So I have decided to run a competition in which you could win a web hosting package for an entire year. Now before everyone starts screaming…”SCAM! SCAM!” let me explain a little better…
What’s the Deal?
It’s pretty simple, all you have to do to become eligible to win is become an email subscriber to my RSS feed. It’s that simple. Obviously please don’t forget to then go check your inbox and verify that you want to become a subscriber. Then just post a comment here to let me know that you’re a subscriber.
What can you win?
Hosting package will include:
- 1 year hosting with IPOWER
- Free domain name
- 15000 GB of Bandwidth
- 2500 emails
- Much more
What’s the catch?
There is absolutely no catch at all… I will never share your email address with anyone and you will never receive any spam from me. The only emails that you will receive are of posts that I have written.
Second chances
If you would like to increase your chances of winning this awesome prize then you are more than welcome to write something about this competition and spread the word a little. All you have to do is include a Trackback to this post and you will instantly have a second entry into the competition. If you don’t know what a Trackback is then check out this article: Trackbacks.
Rules
The competition will end in roughly two months, but the final date will be decided on at a later stage. You must verify that you have become a subscriber to be eligible. Any additional entries through trackbacks will only increase your chances, everyone will still have a chance to win!
Acknowledgement
I have to just say that the idea for this competition is very much based on the competition that is currently running over at The Piss Biscuit. If you want to win even more, why don’t you go check it out too: PB’s Premium Theme Giveaway!
Start winning!
With all that having been said, why not start winning now! Here’s the all important link to my email subscription page. Good luck!

Learning from first hand experience… I’d say that a few months my be a little to distant. My first giveaway was only two week till the results would be issued, and it didn’t go very far… people are all about instant gratification online, and giving away free hosting IS one of those “quickie” things.
*******************************
Here’s an example…
Attention Newbies!!! Have you ever considered getting yourself a blog? Of course you have, and I’m willing to help you pay for it! That’s right… domain name… a years worth of web hosting… and my personal set of must have WordPress plugins ins pre-installed on your WordPress blog!
I want to help you get started in your blogging adventure right away, so all I need is two things from you. A Comment on your favorite blog letting the world know what we’re up to over here… and secondly start thinking creatively because in the next 24 hours I’ll be announcing the winner!
****************************************
Now that example might be a bad one, (no coffee yet) but the point is that even if this hosting COSTS you 100.00 a year it’s something that most bloggers already have… in fact, most readers of blogs are bloggers themselves so hosting isn’t something they are all that worried about at the point that they run across your blog.
So what to do? Run the contest as is (except shorten the life of the contest) and work on a collaboration deal with a premium theme designer.
OR
You could GIVEAWAY a sponsored hosting account… and require that the blogger use your name. Either way, this is yet another great way to show the blogging community that people like you are serious about what they do. You could spend that money on advertisements, but instead you’re giving it back to the community. Great job and I’ll write more about it in an upcoming post over at The Piss Biscuit.

Posted on June 17th, 2008 at 3:40 pmGreat comment PB! I think you are definitely right in terms of instant gratification online. I will probably take your advice and shorten the life of the contest, luckily I didn’t commit to a specific date
I’m looking forward to your upcoming post! Keep up the great work over there!

Also… a great way for a backlink is to jump on Bryan’s new totally awesome contest! You can sponsor a prize like your services… ad space… or hosting if you wanted. if not, it’s a pretty gravy contest anyway.
