Page Rank of 3? From zero to hero…
Well, I have been having a couple computing problems the last couple days and haven’t had access to the internet (it was like being in a desert without water!). But I’m back and pleasantly surprised to see that the much anticipated Google Page Rank Update has taken place. According to my Google Toolbar, I have a page rank of 3 which is pretty awesome considering I only started this blog about 2 months ago.
Obviously Page Rank isn’t really as important as it used to be, but it is still important enough to consider it when building your website. If your page rank is going up then you’re obviously doing something right! Plus if you ever do decide to sell your website then the prospective buyer will definitely be looking at your PR as a factor in how much he/she is willing to pay.
I will be going into a little more detail on how I achieved a PR3 website, in such as short period of time, in the coming weeks and will also be discussing the relevency, if any, to your life
So…what is your website’s PR? Have you seen a nice improvement or maybe the exact opposite? Why not drop me a comment below

Posted on July 30th, 2008 at 2:51 pmMy page rank is a whopping… ZERO!
I spent quite a lot of effort on SEO, making sure everything is XHTML & CSS verified, etc.
How much does page rank matter?

Posted on July 30th, 2008 at 3:06 pm@ Francois: Ok, well the first thing I would say is that you shouldn’t be too upset with a PR 0 if the website is only a couple of months old. How old is your site?
@ Everyone: I will be covering how much page rank matters in an upcoming post,so stay tuned for that. It doesn’t matter as much as it did a couple of years ago but it’s still very much worth paying attention to and putting some work into improving it!

Posted on July 30th, 2008 at 3:31 pmHi John
It’s only about what… two or three months old. So yes it’s fairly new.
I’m also getting quite a few hits from search engines, so the SEO seems to be doing what it’s supposed to.
I’ll be reading to see why PR is important.
Take care,
Francois

Posted on July 30th, 2008 at 3:37 pmWas starting to worry about you for a little there John. Good to see you did not drop from the face of the blogosphere. Congrats on the PR! I picked up a page rank 2 which I am fairly pleased with given that I dilute it somewhat being do follow and all!

Posted on July 30th, 2008 at 4:05 pm@AP: Yeah, I have been a little off the radar the last 10 days or so.
I have definitely been re-energized by the new PR. I feel a slight bit of accomplishment in not seeing “No Page Rank Information Available” anymore
The future is looking bright and I definitely have quite a few more cool happenings in the mix for the future!
@Francois: yeah, it is still very new, my advice would be to just keep on going…don’t lose heart!

Posted on August 1st, 2008 at 12:01 pmGoogle page rank gets updated every 3-4 months, so it probably won’t change anytime soon. I wouldn’t be too worried about your PR right now…try and focus on building some good quality incoming links. Also, stay tuned for more posts on how to improve you page rank
