Monetizing your blog…to ad or not to ad?
I would like to say upfront that I am not pretending to have the right answers to this question. If you have read any of my other articles on this topic you will have noticed that I am strongly against obtrusive and greedy advertising (see here).
What I would like to know is whether or not anyone would mind if there were one or two ads on this blog that were relevant and useful to those who are reading. The reason for my question is that I have been contemplating whether or not I should test the response I get from a couple ads on this site.
So, before I do anything…I would like to know what you think? As usual, let me know in the comments

IMHO, successful blogs DO feature some advertising. There is NO way a blogger can spend significant time blogging without some monetary compensation for all that work. And that is usually thru displaying ads.

As long as you don’t end up looking like a directory site, go for it.
At the end of the day (it gets dark), but every little helps!

Posted on June 27th, 2009 at 3:48 amYes, put ads on here. Make some money. I’m sure you deserve it. One suggestion though is to only serve ads to search visitors. That way you won’t tick off regular visitors and you’ll also have a stronger click through.
